P-61: Effect of 830 nm Diode LASER Irradiation on Human Sperm Motility
نویسندگان
چکیده مقاله:
Background Sperm motility is known as an effective parameter in male fertility and it depends on energy consumption. Low level LASER irradiation could increases energy supply to the cell by producing of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The purpose of this study is to evaluate how the low level LASER irradiation affects the human sperm motility. MaterialsAndMethods Fresh human semen specimens of asthenospermic patients were divided into 4 equal portions and irradiated by 830nm GaAlAs LASER irradiation with varying doses as: 0 (control), 4, 6 and 10 J/cm2. At the times of 0, 30, 45 and 60 minutes following irradiation, sperm motilities are assessed by means of Computer-Aided Sperm Analysis (CASA) in all samples. Two additional tests (HOS and SCD tests) also performed on the control and high irradiated groups as well. Results Sperm motility of the control groups significantly decreased after 30, 45 and 60 min of irradiation, while those of irradiated groups remained constant or slightly increased by passing of time. Significant increases have been observed in doses of 4 and 6 J/cm2 at the times of 60 and 45 min, respectively. SCD test also revealed a significant difference. Conclusion Our results showed that irradiating human sperms with low level 830nm diode LASER can improve their progressive motility depending on both LASER density and post-exposure time.

Effect of Helium-Neon Laser Irradiation on Motility and Ultrastructure of Fresh and Frozen-Thawed Human Sperm
Purpose: Semen freezing is an important technique in human infertility treatment in many different patients but it damages sperms. Low-power lasers are physical agents that have biostimulatory effects. In this study, low-power helium-neon laser's (16J/cm2, one time irradiation) effect on motility and ultrastructure of fresh and frozen-thawed human sperm were studied. Materials and Methods: Thi...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Treating patients with a Gallium-Aluminum-Arsenide (GaAlAs) infrared (IR) diode laser reduces muscle spasm and increases mobility in the muscles. The effect of low intensity laser irradiation on nerve function, growth, and repair mechanisms is a contentious area of research. We have addressed one aspect of this controversy by systematically examining the influence of 83...
متن کاملEvaluation of Diode laser (940 nm) irradiation effect on microleakage in class V composite restoration before and after adhesive application
Introduction: Nowadays, the main focus of dental studies is on adhesive dental materials; since clinical long-term success of bonded restorations depended more on marginal microleakage minimization. So, the aim of this study was Evaluation of Diode laser irradiation effect on microleakage in class V composite restoration before and after adhesive application. Materials and methods: In this in v...

Purpose: This study was carried out to determine the qualitative and ultrastructural changes of the seminiferous epithelium after Ga.A1.As(830 nm) laser radiation. Materials and Methods: Male Sprague- Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups (Two experimental groups and one control). The left testes of them were shaved, washed and marked at inferior pole and daily exposed to laser li...
متن کاملEffects of diode laser (810 nm) irradiation on root canal walls: thermographic and morphological studies.
This study investigated the thermal effects and the morphological changes after diode laser irradiation (810 nm) of root canals. Samples were irradiated at 2.5 W, 1,989 W/cm2 (group 2) and 1.25 W, 10 Hz, 994 W/cm2 (group 3), with group 1 being the control group of nonirradiated samples. The temperature rise was evaluated using an infrared thermographic camera, and the morphological changes were...
